Membership

If you live in the Austin, Texas area and you’re a recreational rider or racer interested in making a positive impact on the community, we’d love to hear from you.

Some of the team in San Marcos, Texas

As a team, we offer benefits to both our junior and adult riders.  On 787, junior riders come first: we have a separate budget for our junior team, and from it we offer clothing and race reimbursements, free training from nationally-recognized coaches, and access to substantially discounted equipment and nutrition.  For our adult riders, we also offer race reimbursements, discounts on equipment and nutrition, and discounted access to a number of local sponsors through our co-op program.

In return, we expect all team members to have a positive impact on the community.  To that end, both membership and benefits for our adult riders are conditioned on participation.  We define “participation” in terms of our mission—attending group rides and acting as a mentor, volunteering at our events, and racing or supporting our riders at races are all viewed favorably.

If this sounds like a good fit for you, we’d recommend that you join some of our open team rides that leave Austin Tri-Cyclist’s Barton Springs Road location (located in downtown Austin) every Saturday at 8:30AM and every Sunday at 9:00AM.  Please introduce yourself to the team, and in particular, our board members (Bryan Leuenberger, Robert Biard, Shiva Mayer, and Mike Panozzo). That’ll give you a chance to get to know us, and vice-versa.  We’ll also be able to get you an application, and answer any questions you may have.
